SERVING THE LORD

The Community Church of Round Lake had been a vital part of the thriving community around it for over 75 years. At almost any time of the day you will find someone within or outside the Church building doing something that is vital to its existence. As members of the church we have the responsibility to serve the Lord in one capacity or another. From Glenn offering up the words of the Lord on Sunday morning to those of us that serve in any capacity that makes this church run smoothly – we are all serving the Lord.

Ushers: are the first stop as you enter the front doors, and a vital part of our Sunday Worship service. Handing out the bulletins with a smile and a friendly hello, welcoming members & guests alike, and assisting w/seating if needed. The ushers also count the attendance for the day; adults & children. Passing the offering baskets is another vital step of ushering. Checking for litter left behind can be done when church is over and the pews are empty. A year ago we chose to schedule Ushers for a month at a time. So for a 12 month/52 week period you only usher four Sundays & your done for the year. Two ushers are scheduled for each month.

Coffee Hour: Head for Fellowship hall after church and join your faith family where you can catch up on everything that’s gone on all week long or discuss the sermon you just heard. Coffee hour would not take place if it were not for those who so graciously serve and let’s not forget those generous donations that allow me to purchase supplies of coffee, creamer, sugar, milk, juice, cake, cookies, bagels, coffee cakes, fruit, veggies, peanut butter, jelly, cream cheese, chips, salsa, cheese & crackers and paper products such as plates, cups and coffee filters. Everything is supplied for coffee hour. The only thing you do have to give is your time. There is some preparation time before and also some clean-up time after. Oh, I almost forgot, when you serve coffee hour you will not be discouraged if you like to bake and want to treat us.

I either make calls or email every month to schedule at least 2 to serve coffee every Sunday and I try not to bother you if you served the month before. If you are new or have never served hour before and think you would like to give it a try, give me a call at 847-973-2964 or email me at work at jrichter@lcfpd.org.

Serving the Lord,

Joyce Richter

Am sure they would appreciate a card from time to time.  Both are currently working full time, and adjusting to life “down under”.

PRAYER & PRAISE NOTES

The prayer and praise notes that are found weekly in the bulletin are maintained by Rosalie Stickling.   Please use the form provided in the bulletin or email the church office with your requests.  We are thankful to Rosalie for her service.
