LITE LINES

As seen on a bumper sticker “Today I will commit one random act of senseless kindness…will you?

Do Lipton Tea employees take “coffee breaks”?

“Unanswered Prayer”

The preacher’s 5 year-old daughter noticed that her father always paused and bowed his head for a moment before starting his sermon.  One day, she asked him why.  “Well, Honey,” he began, proud that his daughter was so observant of his messages, “I’m asking the Lord to help me preach a good sermon.”  “How come He doesn’t answer it?” she asked!

CBD OR AMAZON

Christian Book Distributors & Amazon are others sources for easy ways to donate to the building fund.  You can link to both of these via our website.  For further information, please see Katie Margison.

UPDATE FROM THE CURRYS

June 19th thru June 30, Tom and Rhonda were visiting churches in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, then spoke at Joel & Helen Gentz’s church near Cleveland.  Both felt they made valuable connections with these churches, and enjoyed the special time of fellowship with the congregations, as well as seeing old friends.

Special prayer needs are:

  • Continued health and safety
  • Financial support
  • Spiritual wisdom and discernment
  • Our children and grandchildren as they also are adjusting to the reality of our move to India

CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER TIME

A regular gathering for prayer is always a good thing amongst believers.  As stated in Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.”  Plans are to have a regular monthly prayer time to lift the needs of the church and our people before the Lord.  Alex Fazekas is leading this effort; more information will be coming soon.

COUNCIL REPORTS

Reports from the most recent meeting are always available at the back of the church in the wooden rack at the top of the steps. Don’t hesitate to pick one up if you have interest. Council Meetings are always open to our members. We meet the second Tuesday evening to conduct church business and the fourth Tuesday evening to pray. Please contact Council President Mike Johnson if you wish to attend or speak at any meeting.

PURCHASING AT MENARDS?

Thinking of doing some home repair soon?  Remember that you can purchase Menard Scrip in increments of $25.00.  These are used the same as cash when you shop.  The church receives 4% at the end of each year, plus an additional 2% in merchandise credit.  This benefits the building fund.  See Marietta Eggert for details.

USE OF CHURCH BUILDING AND CHIMES CALENDAR??

The calendar in the Chimes each month only contains the events of our church life. It does not list all the groups using the church facility on different dates. If you wish inquire about using the facility, please call or email Anne Lyons.  Church number 847-546-1000, or email roundlakecc@yahoo.com.

DINE WITH 9

Planning is underway to revive the “Dine with 9” fellowship groups.  This is a time of making new connections and/or reviving old ones within our congregation.  Groups are randomly selected and then meet monthly for fun and fellowship, usually at various houses.   Alex Fazekas is the point person, and will be circulating a sign up sheet soon.

CARD MINISTRY

Do you know someone who is in need of some spiritual love from our brother’s and sister’s in Christ?  If so, contact Shirley Disch.  Shirley will faithfully mail cards to people that convey prayer, love, and hope to those in need.

Shirley’s email is: nanna138@sbcglobal.net, or you can call her at 847-646-6883.
